A Story Permeated with Passion ...

Vanessa and David, two chemists with a love for nature, good food and Sicily (Vanessa’s native land), founded Essenza Verde di Sicilia during a walk through Scintilia, a magical place filled with olive trees in Grotte, a small village 20 km from Agrigento. This is where Vanessa was born and where her parents still live.

Vanessa: “I’ve always loved cooking and observing the myriad ways a dish can be enhanced since my youth, watching my grandmother cook from early morning. I cannot forget the days when she made bread and topped it with excellent extra virgin olive oil while it was still warm from the oven. The smell of olive oil accompanied the full experience of eating simple bread and extra virgin olive oil.

These memories and the amazing smell stayed with me until a hot Sicilian summer in 2020 when David and I decided to create a company to distribute extra virgin olive oil, allowing people to discover this amazing raw material from my native land. The olive oil gave us the opportunity to expand our portfolio to include almonds and other products that will come in the future.”

David: Vanessa’s other half and right-hand man, with a keen sense of business, creativity, enthusiasm, and reflection, supports Vanessa in her choices, provides great ideas, and helps shape future strategies.
