A Story Permeated with Passion ...

Vanessa and David, two chemists with a deep love for nature, good food, and Sicily—Vanessa’s birthplace—founded Essenza Verde di Sicilia during a walk through Scintilia, a magical area surrounded by ancient olive trees in Grotte, a small village located 20 km from Agrigento.
This is where Vanessa was born and where her family still lives today.

Vanessa:
“I have always been passionate about cooking and fascinated by how simple ingredients can be transformed. Since childhood, I watched my grandmother prepare traditional dishes from early morning, and I still remember the days she baked homemade bread and finished it with excellent extra virgin olive oil, still warm from the oven. The aroma of olive oil defined those memories and shaped my appreciation for authentic Sicilian flavours.

These moments stayed with me until a hot Sicilian summer in 2020, when David and I decided to create a company dedicated to distributing organic Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, giving people the opportunity to experience this precious ingredient from my native land. Thanks to this project, we began expanding our portfolio with almonds and other traditional Sicilian products.”

David:
